Educational concept of TaMOs-Seminar

Description of content and schedule of the 8 hours lasting TaMOs seminar

During a weekend lasting seminar with 8 hours the participants will be introduced to the necessary methods of a diver based monitoring. The complete introduction is adjusted to the needs and skills of divers. The seminar is structured as followed:

  1. Introduction to the basic reasons and aims of TaMOs
    1. Why is it necessary to provide seminars?
    2. What are the reasons for starting TaMOs?
    3. Why is it necessary to get through to as much people as possible?
    4. What are possible results?
  2. Introduction in sediment description
    1. Introduction of the different sedimenttyps, effects and identification criteria
  3. Introduction into description of Phytobenthos
    1. Determination of macrophytes (Algae and Seaweed) for divers
    2. Zonation of macrophytes
  4. Introduction to the concet of TaMOs
    1. Introduction to the necessary rules for comparable data
    2. Introduction to the swedish Phytobenthos monitoring
    3. Introduction to the dutch ANEMOON-Project
    4. Introduction to the concept for TaMOs
  5. Introduction into description of marine species
    1. Introduction into determination of species for divers
    2. Introduction into the habitates of the Baltic Sea
  6. Final summary and round up
    1. Introduction into the TaMOs Website
    2. Contact addresses
    3. Farewell

Schedule

The concept is set up for two days. It may be possible to teach everything in one day, but it is hard to pick up everything in such a compact form.

Day 1 (ca. 4 hours)

  4. Introduction into sediment description
  5. Introduction into determination of macrophytes

Day 2 (ca. 4 hours)
